A meeting with Jean Luc Garnier, Retail and Exhibition Director - INFOPRO Digital.
The Toy and Game Preshow took place recently at the Deauville International Centre. Could you tell us a bit more about this exhibition ?
This exhibition is aimed at toy industry professionals. It draws together buyers (Purchasing Directors, Purchasing Managers and Category Managers) who handle buying, and suppliers of European brands who showcase their products.
What is special about the preshow ?
This exhibition is different from other Toy and Game shows in the emphasis that it places on confidentiality. The suppliers exhibit their innovations, a whole years work which they do not want to be visible to investors.
Each stand represents a small showroom where goods are presented in the form of collections. 3.5 m high partitions are installed and each stand can be locked.
To visit a stand, you must be a professional purchaser and have made an appointment.
Why does the exhibition take place at this time of year?
The exhibition was previously organised in Paris in January each year to prepare for the following Christmas. Unfortunately, this was too late in the distribution agenda which deals with product referencing. So we decided to launch the preshow in November.
The 17th Toy and Game preshow will take place in Deauville from the 16-20 November 2020.
