    Bolero

    Show 1497

Bolero is a unique program that brings together several choreographic works. On the program, an unforgettable dance show that mixes grace and originality, contemporary creation and extracts from the great ballets of the classical repertoire. Directed by François Mauduit, ex-dancer of Maurice Béjart and surrounded by prestigious performers from La Scala de Milan, the Paris Opera and the Bordeaux Opera.

“After having had the chance to perform Maurice Béjart’s version many times, François Mauduit took over Ravel’s famous Bolero to create his own version in 2015, which combines the oriental influences of the music, the suave and Spanish colors of its orchestration and the exultation of the bodies so dear to the energy of the troupe.” (Télérama)

See you on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 8:30 pm.

Avishai Cohen Trio // first part : Michael Leonhart Duo

    Festival 1500

    AVISHAI COHEN TRIO

    JAZZ
    Thursday 18th May
    21:00 → 23:30 — Centre International de Deauville
Over the past two decades, internationally renowned bassist, singer and composer Avishai Cohen has earned a reputation as one of the world’s greatest bassists.

With his new trio line-up, Cohen will perform music from his latest trio album, ‘Shifting Sands’ (out May 2022), which includes brand new original compositions, as well as fan favourites and repertoire from his extensive musical library.

    MICHAEL LEONHART DUO

    JAZZ
    Thursday 18th May
    21:00 → 21:30 — Centre International de Deauville

On the one hand we have Jamie Leonhart, known as a quick-witted singer-songwriter who refuses to be categorized, dynamic in her range of emotions and diverse in her ability to transcend genres. On the other we have Michael Leonhart, a trumpeter, composer, producer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist based in New York. In his work you can hear the fluidity of the multiple genres he has immersed himself in over the years. The two of them will form the Michael Leonhart Duo to open for Avishai Cohen.

Thomas Dutronc, Stochelo Rosenberg & Rocky Gresset

    Festival 1500

THOMAS DUTRONC, STOCHELO ROSENBERG & ROCKY GRESSET
    JAZZ
    Friday 19th May
    21:00 → 23:29 — Centre International de Deauville
And it was time to bring together these three friends: Thomas Dutronc, Rocky Gresset and Stochelo Rosenberg around their desire to unite their three guitars to perform the most beautiful melodies from the album Frenchy, timeless hits by Dutronc Père and Fils and of course a return to the roots to Django with Stochelo, the great guitar officer, in the spotlight.

In just a few years Rocky Gresset has become one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, his exceptional virtuosity at the service of a wonderful musical sensitivity. Before him, Stochelo had already gone beyond the demonstration of an infallible technique to offer what seems unattainable to most musicians: pure emotion. Thomas, on the other hand, has managed to combine the best of both worlds, being both a brilliant guitarist and a popular singer. His last album Frenchy was the second best-selling jazz album in the world.

Together, they offer us a delightful representation of everything one could dream of hearing when one is in love with acoustic and intimate music: this is not a show of songs, it is not a show of guitars… It is a show of guitars put into songs à la Dutronc!

    Show 850

    MIRACULOUS LADY BUG
    PERFORMANCE FOR CHILDREN

    14:00 → 15:15 — Centre International de Deauville
The worldwide phenomenon Miraculous Ladybug will perform in a brand new show — both visual and musical — offering the audience an immersive experience never seen before.
Using holographic technology, the characters of Ladybug and Chat Noir come to life before our eyes, jumping from the screen to the stage for an incredibly realistic live performance. Following the success of the series and the expected release of the film this summer, this new show offers audiences the chance to immerse themselves in the Miraculous universe and feel as if they are really part of the action. The music, stunning special effects and elaborate choreography add an extra dimension to the experience, making the show even more captivating. The Miraculous Ladybug hologram show offers you a multi-sensory and magical journey!

Ibrahim Maalouf // First part : Raoul Vignal

    Festival 1500

    JAZZ
    Saturday 20th May
    21:00 → 23:30 — Centre International de Deauville
With his faithful companion, guitarist François Delporte, Ibrahim Maalouf will present his album “40 mélodies”, revisiting the music that has taken him on a journey for over 20 years in the simplest of ways: a guitar, a trumpet and 40 melodies, to celebrate his 40th birthday.
In 16 albums, Ibrahim Maalouf has gone from being the winner of the most important international classical trumpet competitions in the world to the most popular jazz musician on the French music scene. In 2016, he became the first jazz musician in history to sell out France’s largest concert hall, the Accor Arena in Paris Bercy, and in 2022, he became the first Lebanese instrumentalist to be nominated for a Grammy Award for his album Queen of Sheba with Angélique Kidjo.

    RAOUL VIGNAL
    FOLK
    Saturday 20th May
    21:00 → 21:30 — Centre International de Deauville
Originally from Lyon, Raoul Vignal began performing solo at the age of 20.
Over the course of his stage performances, he weaves a delicate and harmonious universe, an intimate folk where his guitar playing(finger-picking and alternative tunings) enters into a subtle resonance with his soothing singing. He left his hometown at the end of 2013 and moved to Berlin where he stayed for two years. There he became an active musician, multiplying collaborations, recordings and concerts that led him to perform in various European countries.

    Opening act for Ibrahim Maalouf.

    Juliette Armanet

    Festival 1500

On Sunday 21 May 2023 at 3.30 pm, Juliette Armanet will perform at the Centre International de Deauville as part of the United Music of Deauville Festival!

Burning the fire, assuming her desire, her taste for ardour and excess!
This is the credo of Juliette Armanet’s second album, filled with passion. With this second opus, Juliette Armanet wanted to discover who she is, a girlfriend who became a great lover, an explorer of a palette of feelings that each song declines. A sacred fire that blazes on stage, to be discovered on tour in France.
