Le Grand Week-End — Deauville sur Pointes: a celebration of dance in all its forms, with the exceptional presence of international ballet stars.

The Festival concept :

From 25 to 27 July 2025, the Deau­ville sur Pointes fest­iv­al will invite enthu­si­asts and the curi­ous to dis­cov­er a packed pro­gramme devoted entirely to the art of dance. Over the course of a week­end, Deau­ville will take on the air of an inter­na­tion­al stage, vibrat­ing to the rhythm of the greatest tal­ents on the inter­na­tion­al scene!

Since 1912, with Serge Diaghilev’s first shows, Rudolf Nureyev’s legendary vis­it in 1961 and recent per­form­ances by Bolshoi and Mari­in­sky soloists, Deau­ville has cul­tiv­ated a spe­cial rela­tion­ship with dance. Build­ing on this pres­ti­gi­ous her­it­age, the town is inaug­ur­at­ing an event with a new format, invit­ing every­one to exper­i­ence cho­reo­graph­ic excel­lence in a warm, sum­mery atmosphere.

This new fest­iv­al will bring togeth­er an excep­tion­al cast: stars of the Roy­al Bal­let, the Bav­ari­an State Opera Bal­let, the San Fran­cisco Bal­let, the Roy­al Dan­ish Bal­let and the Dutch Nation­al Bal­let, under the dir­ec­tion of Amer­ic­an cho­reo­graph­er Gar­rett Smith. These artists will per­form at a pres­ti­gi­ous gala and will chair the jury of the com­pet­i­tion for young dance talent.

Designed to encour­age exchange and enrich every­one’s exper­i­ence, the fest­iv­al will fea­ture: a pub­lic rehears­al of the gala, exclus­ive meet­ings with the artists and a ‘dance festival’.

Attend the public rehearsals for the Dance Gala:

Take a look behind the scenes of dance and dis­cov­er the fas­cin­at­ing daily lives of the great inter­na­tion­al stars from the four corners of the world. It’s a unique oppor­tun­ity for dance pro­fes­sion­als and enthu­si­asts alike to delve into the wealth of schools and tech­niques that shape excep­tion­al artists.

Attend a dance gala featuring stars of classical ballet under the artistic direction of Garret Smith.

As part of the Deau­ville sur Pointes fest­iv­al, a gala even­ing will be held at the Centre Inter­na­tion­al de Deauville.
